-The San Jose Sharks have signed forwards Mark Bell and Christian Ehrhoff. Mark Bell's deal is three years. They also re-signed Mark Smith.

-The Montreal Canadiens have gave GM Bob Gainey a contract extension through the 2010-2011 season.

- Nashville has re-signed Martin Erat.

- Canucks re-sign Lee Goren.

- The Avalanche have signed Ken Klee and Paul Stastny.

- Penguins sign Ronald Petrovicky.

- The Islanders have signed Aaron Asham, avoiding arbitration.

- The Blackhawks have named Rick Dudley their assistant GM.
